I have been developing websites since 1997 and in the beginning (table sites era..) we had few browser netscape and internet explorer and maybe something else. Table based layout worked well but.. changing / upgrading layout was a "mess". Then the CSS era arrived. And was (and it is) really really fun developing websites. Suddenly new browsers popped out, like firebird=>firefox, opera.. and safari was evolving in the mac world...
OMG, another web gallery?
Yes.. another web gallery. And you know what? I guess (and hope) it will not be the last. Once upone a time you had 'web directories ', now it's time for web galleries. Who does know what future of the web deserve to us... ;-) ?
Anyway, in the "FAQ" you can read the 'short' about this new web gallery. It's different from others (cssmania.com, cssglance.com...) for three main points:
- fighters can submit a review of their web site, containing links too (to the web site...)
- you can embed in your web site a widget to promote your site
- visitors are invited to vote a random "fight" between two random picked web sites.
Data (anomimously) collected will be the base to build a chart of people's favourites web site, so we can see time after time, vote after vote, which kind of web sites rock and which one not.
Our chart is based on what we call "efficiency", that is winning times / total fights. I.e. a 100% efficiency means that a web site has won all fights. 50% means that only half of the fights has been won by the web site and so on. System is smart enough to count vote for web sites fighting in the same category so we got two charts: a overall chart and a specific category chart. For the next future,we are planning a month by month chart so that you get an archive too..and some others features!
